Duo Altiler
Duo Altiler is a Belgian based violin-piano duo with Veronique De Raedemaeker and Alexander Declercq.
“Altiler” refers to the tradition of gathering at the linden tree. It also refers to the place where Alexander and Veronique met first, at the Musik Hochschüle of Köln where they played together at their exams.
In 2023 they performed in a full Elisabethzaal of Antwerp the triple concerto of L Van Beethoven as benefit for Mercy Ships. As “twintigers” in 2024 they were praised for their contribution at ‘Iedereen klassiek’ in Concertgebouw Brugge with ‘tango and a madhouse” featuring music from a.o. Piazzolla, Lutoslawki, Liszt and Schnitke.
They have a reputation to unlock with virtuosity and poetry the depths of compositions, such as Bela Bartok’s sonata:
Concertgebouw Brugge about the Klara Toots concert broadcasted on the first of march of 2024.
“An electrifying intensity! That is how we remember the concert in the studio-Toots of Klara of the ‘twintigers’ Alexander Declercq en Veronique De Raedemaeker”
Cultuurpact 18 okt 2023 about Klankdomein 2023, festival with pieces from Belgian composers.
“Also the Sonatine from 1926 of Marcel Poot (1901-1988) was a beautiful surprise. Performed by the violinist Veronique de Raedemaeker and pianist Alexander Declerq. ... this sonatina has everything a good music piece should contain. Despite being a short piece, it contains everything. It fits and was beautifully performed.”
With large public acclaim Duo Altiler interpretes a mix of classical and intense, more audaciously chosen masterpieces in their concerts.
